Why Do We Love YA?

This article in the LA Times got a lot of attention yesterday in the publishing and book blogs that I pay attention to.

It explores a question that I think we've discussed amongst ourselves. What is it about YA literature--which, of course, I am obsessed with--that keeps us reading and talking?
Here's looking forward to YA month in April!

I liked this quote:

"YA authors are able to take themselves less seriously. They're able to have a little more fun, and they're less confined by this idea of themselves as Very Important Artists. That paradoxically leads them to create far better work than people who are trying to win awards."

Thanks for posting, Kjirsten.

Oh, funny! I just saw this post and read your comment, Jade, and thought I have no recollection of posting this. And I didn't! It was Theresa who found the article. I need to read it and respond. But I love the teaser quote you've written. It's awesome!
Need to write up our past few meetings' notes. Soon, I'm sure...
